What is your background, tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do?

My first job was working as a Temp Receptionist in a very small IT company as I prepared to move to my next degree in Fashion. This very quickly turned to a permanent position moving from receptionist and ending my 14 year tenure as a Director of Operations to have my first child. Since then, I have worked in senior management roles in Aerospace manufacturing and maintenance operations. Travelling the world and working in different countries until I left the business to have my second child.

I knew I didn’t want to go back to the crazy work life and really wanted to spend my time with my children, and I was lucky to have had a creative background and somehow stumbled upon the Art of Quilling whilst on my maternity leave. Having never tried this craft, I was intrigued and bought my basic kit to start quilling. I had no idea what I was doing, and through trial and error, I made my first paper quilled unicorn. I loved this process and one design led to another and within a few months, VishwArt – my creative art business was born. I knew this was the calling as it felt so right. I was doing something that brough me so much peace and gave happiness to others. Not to mention the fact that I was now spending time with my kids .. it was definitely a “win win” situation.

Can you tell us a bit about using art as a therapy to help us emotionally?

I have always found creativity as my way of expressing what I can not verbally express. Having spent months quilling, I found that it was really helping me deal with my post-natal depression.

Not to mention that I was struggling with anxiety and this process of creating and working with something tangible was helping me stay calm, focus on the present and really work through the anxiety.

Art therapy is said to have proven rather beneficial in helping us emotionally. Immersing oneself in any form of creative activity allows one to help make sense of things and understand ourselves better. It can also help us resolve complicated feelings, or find ways in dealing with them.

Art therapy allows us to be in the present moment, practice mindfulness and this in essence takes away the feelings of anxieties which in a lot of cases is to do with the fear of the future.

Can you share a story about how the work you do impacts your clients?

Since starting to teach this beautiful and ancient art of quilling, I have been invited to many such groups to host masterclasses. It has been absolutely beautiful to get the feedback on these classes as each of the attendees have felt calm, grounded and in a state of relaxation by the end of each session. And this is the feeling that I have personally experienced since I’ve started quilling, when in a state of panic or discomfort, I resort to quilling and I find myself totally calm and centred by the time I’m finished.

A lot of my students are young children as well, and the feedback from their parents have been so positive and inspiring that the kids leave their devices to one side to pick up their quilling kits and start creating from that they’ve learnt during their sessions with me.

What will the workshop be about? What will you be teaching our members?

The workshop will briefly touch on art as a form of therapy and then introduce the members to the history of Paper Quilling and fundamentals of quilling. During the session, we will be learning the basic and fundamental techniques of Paper Quilling and we will be making a Paper Quilled Tea Light Holder. This will be created through a process of learning the techniques how to create each element that forms the final creation. The techniques are very simple to follow and everyone can quill!

Meet the december expert: Balancing your chakras Sneha Ramji

Balancing your chakras. Sneha Ramji

Balancing your chakras with healer Sneha Ramji

This month we have Spiritual Coach, Healer, Mentor and Meditation teacher Sneha Ramji joining us to talk about Chakras. Sneha transitioned into her passion and life purpose full time after working in the corporate world for 20+ years. She specializes in bringing peace, balance and clarity into people’s lives, through her coaching on reconnection with one’s inner being and re-establishing their authentic essence.

What is your story? Can you tell us a bit about your background?

My background is in corporate which helps her to understand the pressures of modern day living. I understands that people are time poor and demand heavy, in today’s stressful, over connected world. I harnesses my corporate experience, coupled with the uniquely accessible, easy-to-open-up, insightful nature to bring about powerful inner healing and effective, practical results in the mental, physical and spiritual layers of my clients.

What kind of work do you do, with who and where did you study?

I have now been teaching and healing for the last ten years and have taught meditation to corporate clients including HSBC. I undertook my training at the world-famous College of Psychic Studies, and have since gone on to study Reiki, Chakra balancing, Mediumship, Spiritual Coaching and Crystal Healing extensively. In addition, I have completed courses in Psychic Development, along the way picking up the ancient art of healing from an Indian Grand Master whose lineage can be traced all the way to the founder of Reiki.

What made you decide to follow your life’s purpose?

I used to work as a finance manager however I always felt like something was missing. Like there was a bigger purpose. I was always looking to change career paths it was until 5 years ago that I realised that healing was consistent in life, it had helped me to turn around my life. I had issues with self esteem, I was in debt and just was miserable. after learning and applying energy techniques, my life completely changed for the better. I always thought it would be good to give back.  I started a meditation class and taking clients on the side then when I got made redundant, around 5 years back  it was the perfect time to make the change.

How do you help people, what kind of healing do you offer?

I offer a unique combination of Reiki, shamanic and Akashic healing. I use all my knowledge on energy healing and methods to mentor people and help to empower themselves to apply the techniques in order to better their life.

What difference does this make to people’s lives?

When people understand energy, their realise they have much more control over there circumstances than they realise. They start to take charge, changing their beliefs, mind sets and ultimately their manifestation of situations for the better. I have had clients overcome grief, relationship issues, stress, finance worries and many more blocks. The beauty of the body and healing is we are able to identity the blocks we have in our frequency and apply methods in removing them and start to attract what we want in life.

What will you be teaching our members during the workshop?

I will be teaching members about the chakras, telling them how they work and what each of them do. The workshop is titled ‘Balancing your energy centres to have more energy and vitality‘.

Meet the OCTOBER Expert: Let’s overcome limiting beliefs with NISHA VYAS

Overcoming Limiting Beliefs with Nisha Vyas

This month, we have Nisha Vyas joining us as our Workshop expert. Nisha has been in the personal development space for 10 years and committed to a full time role as a transformational coach back in 2018. As well as an ICF ACC accredited life coach, she is a coach trainer for one of Europe’s largest ICF accredited coach training schools, and an EMCC qualified Coach Supervisor. Alongside her corporate work, she dedicates time to mentoring young women aged between 9-16.

What kind of things do you help people with?

I empower ambitious and driven individuals, with high aspirations, who have hit a ceiling, to break free from inner limitations, so that they can step up to the next level of their full potential. This includes creating clarity, overcoming mind-set barriers, and developing confidence and self-esteem.  I do this through 121 and group coaching workshops.

Can you share a client transformation story?

I’ve been fortunate to work with some really incredible people so this was hard to choose one, but most recently, I started working with an amazing lady, she has a fantastic fast growing business and two young children. She wanted to maximise her time during lockdown to get more clarity on her goals and find fulfilment in her business.

During our one to one sessions, I worked with this client to deep dive into her core values, needs, beliefs, and uncover areas that were holding her back from reaching her full potential…by the end of our fourth session, she received clarity and awareness of a belief that not only held her back professionally, but it also held her back from fully committing to her relationship of 14 years!

Right then and there, as a result of this session, she decided she was ready to get married! A week later…she popped the big question – he said YES!! Her consistent effort has produced the most phenomenal results!

What will you be teaching us during the October Workshop?

In the October workshop for The Grow Me Project Members, I will be helping them to “Overcome their limiting beliefs”  we will be exploring limiting beliefs, and I will be sharing some simple and practical tools to identify and overcome a belief that may be holding them back.

September Workshop: Journaling for Personal Growth with Renu Ravalia

Journaling for personal growth workshop

The power of journaling with Renu Ravalia

Renu is a Spiritual Life Coach & Mindfulness Meditation Teacher & founder of The Grow Me Project. She works with women who want to increase their self awareness, build self belief & live a happier, more well balanced life. Her coaching style involves using personal growth and spiritual tools and focuses on 4 main areas: self love, mindfulness & mindset, aligning with your true self & finding inner happiness.

Why is Journaling such an important technique for personal growth?

Journaling has been part of my spiritual practice since 2012, as a tool, I have used it to get clearer on thoughts and feelings. Over the years I have tried lots of different styles and have seen great benefit when I stay consistent. In everything you do consistency will be the key! Remain open and be ready to try everything is the advice I would give.

Journaling is such a powerful tool and will be one of the most important ones you use as part of your growth journey and this is exactly why I have decided to make this the first workshop of the project and one that I will be leading.

What will this workshop include?

Whether you journal on a regular basis or have never done it before, here is what I will be covering in this workshop:
– Benefits of journaling
– Different styles and techniques of journaling
– What to journal on
– Questions you can be asking yourself on a daily basis

Each workshop includes a task or resource you can use, this is so you can remain accountable. This one will include a a challenge and as always, I will be checking in on you and we will discuss progress via a coaching call where you will also be given the chance to share your learnings and ask questions.

Why The Grow Me Project?

Be honest, have you ever been in a room of people and still felt alone? Have you ever felt lost, confused or found yourself questioning your purpose and reason for being here? I have felt all of these! If you are reading this, you have probably already seen my video telling you a bit about my story but what I didn’t tell you, is that this started way before my divorce!

At university, I studied psychology, even though my dad questioned my rationale, the only thing I knew, was I loved it. I have always done things for love. My first job was one I loved, working with kids with disabilities, teaching in and out of the classroom, lack of job prospects meant I left and thus my search began to find another job I loved. I did find this in 2008 but then I got married and moved country. When I returned, the journey continued but this time in a new field. It was then I started to delve into spiritual and personal growth, finding peace in some of the practices but it didn’t last. It was a really lonely time, you see as you dip more into yourself, you can start to move away from others – people who don’t align with where you are going will just fall away. I longed for people to share my thoughts with and I also longed for guidance and I definitely wished I had sought help and direction earlier and that is exactly why I set up The Grow Me Project.

This project is created completely out of passion. A chance for me to bring together some amazing experts who can help you find your own way as well as a space for you to meet people like YOU whilst working on yourself. I really hope you enjoy being part of the project, if you choose to be a member, you will be seeing lots more of me. I honestly couldn’t put into words how much it means to have you here.
