May Workshop: Heal with the magical power of crystals

Heal with the magical power of crystals

The May workshop is all about crystals and will be run by Harjot Gabri. Harjot is a holistic coach, reiki crystal master teacher, mindful and meditation teacher and recently during the pandemic last year qualified as a rapid transformation therapist. She helps empower women to overcome their limiting beliefs, release those blocks, rewire and install new beliefs and support them on their body mind spirit journey so they can live and enjoy life in a more mindful and abundant flow.

Can you tell us a bit about you and your background?

My background is I was born and raised in Kenya in a small town kisumu. I moved to the UK in 1996 and started my career in the banking industry. i was very fortunate to have had a very successful career in management for 22 years until 2018 when i took redundancy. This came to me at a time i was not really feeling aligned  to the work i was doing as i always knew i had a higher purpose in life  and this was my awakening call. The universe gave me an opportunity of my dream of being my own boss and serving humanity with love, light  joy and abundance and thus my business ZenHtreasures was born.

How did you begin your journey with crystals?

My journey with crystals started at a very young age of 7-8. I used to collect shiny rocks and draw on them, which interestingly when i did my reiki some of the stones i had painted as a kid had similar symbols as used in reiki.  I got my first crystal from my mum who on her first visit to India got me an Amethyst and a Clear Quartz. I felt so connected to them like they were my lost friends found. Their energy was like an armour to me and they helped me in every journey of my life.

Why are crystals so important to our wellbeing?

Just like we take supplements, crystals are that physical connection to our human vibration and frequency.
What is your favourite crystal and why?i have a few favorites but the Amethyst Clear Quartz and Rose Quartz are my go to’s. Its because i have a deep connection with them and they are my inner guidance friends. For Example the Amethyst is my meditation crystal. its helps me connect with my higher self and helps to balance my minds chit chat Rose Quartz keeps my heart space open and my self love connection

What will you be teaching our members during the workshop?

At the workshop I will be teaching you what crystals are.  How to choose crystals. How they can help us in our everyday life. How to connect ,charge and cleanse them.  Introduction to crystal grids

April Workshop: Quill & Chill Creative Art Session

Quill & Chill creative art session with Tina Gajjar

The April workshop will be run by paper quilling artist Tina Gajjar. This month is about learning about art therapy and how it can help you become more mindful and completely focussed on the moment which will allow you to get more connected to the present.

In order to take part in this workshop, you will need to purchase a few items, you can do so by following the link here – https://www.vishwart.com/product-page/qkitbeg

Anyone purchasing this kit from the VishwArt website will also get the templates included to create the tealight holders along with a 10% discount when they use code GROWME at checkout.

What is your background, tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do?

My first job was working as a Temp Receptionist in a very small IT company as I prepared to move to my next degree in Fashion. This very quickly turned to a permanent position moving from receptionist and ending my 14 year tenure as a Director of Operations to have my first child. Since then, I have worked in senior management roles in Aerospace manufacturing and maintenance operations. Travelling the world and working in different countries until I left the business to have my second child.

I knew I didn’t want to go back to the crazy work life and really wanted to spend my time with my children, and I was lucky to have had a creative background and somehow stumbled upon the Art of Quilling whilst on my maternity leave. Having never tried this craft, I was intrigued and bought my basic kit to start quilling. I had no idea what I was doing, and through trial and error, I made my first paper quilled unicorn. I loved this process and one design led to another and within a few months, VishwArt – my creative art business was born. I knew this was the calling as it felt so right. I was doing something that brough me so much peace and gave happiness to others. Not to mention the fact that I was now spending time with my kids .. it was definitely a “win win” situation.

Can you tell us a bit about using art as a therapy to help us emotionally?

I have always found creativity as my way of expressing what I can not verbally express. Having spent months quilling, I found that it was really helping me deal with my post-natal depression.

Not to mention that I was struggling with anxiety and this process of creating and working with something tangible was helping me stay calm, focus on the present and really work through the anxiety.

Art therapy is said to have proven rather beneficial in helping us emotionally. Immersing oneself in any form of creative activity allows one to help make sense of things and understand ourselves better. It can also help us resolve complicated feelings, or find ways in dealing with them.

Art therapy allows us to be in the present moment, practice mindfulness and this in essence takes away the feelings of anxieties which in a lot of cases is to do with the fear of the future.

Can you share a story about how the work you do impacts your clients?

Since starting to teach this beautiful and ancient art of quilling, I have been invited to many such groups to host masterclasses. It has been absolutely beautiful to get the feedback on these classes as each of the attendees have felt calm, grounded and in a state of relaxation by the end of each session. And this is the feeling that I have personally experienced since I’ve started quilling, when in a state of panic or discomfort, I resort to quilling and I find myself totally calm and centred by the time I’m finished.

A lot of my students are young children as well, and the feedback from their parents have been so positive and inspiring that the kids leave their devices to one side to pick up their quilling kits and start creating from that they’ve learnt during their sessions with me.

What will the workshop be about? What will you be teaching our members?

The workshop will briefly touch on art as a form of therapy and then introduce the members to the history of Paper Quilling and fundamentals of quilling. During the session, we will be learning the basic and fundamental techniques of Paper Quilling and we will be making a Paper Quilled Tea Light Holder. This will be created through a process of learning the techniques how to create each element that forms the final creation. The techniques are very simple to follow and everyone can quill!

March Workshop: An introduction to Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT Workshop with Tamara Donn

An introduction to EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) with Tamara Donn

The March Workshop will be run by Certified Master EFT Trainer Tamara Donn. EFT also known as Emotional Freedom Technique is well known for helping to release various emotions. Tamara predominantly helps people regain their calm and get more done. Tamara is in the process of writing a book called “Frazzled to Fabulous in 5 Minutes a Day” due to be published later this year.

What is your background, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

My first job was working in the IT industry in the city. I was a square peg in a round hole. It took about 10 years to realise that I could enjoy life a lot more doing other things. I retrained as an aromatherapist, a holistic childbirth educator and eventually came to EFT. Together with my husband, we run The EFT Training Centre and until recently ran trainings in the UK and abroad. Now most of it is online! I am also in the final stages of publishing my book Frazzled to Fabulous in 5 Minute a Day for stressed, overwhelmed and exhausted mums to regain their calm, enjoy their kids and get more done with EFT.

What is EFT and how did you learn about it? Can you give a brief description?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or Tapping is a powerful tool that can be used on ones own as well as with a practitioner to release negative emotions, limiting beliefs, emotional aspects of physical pain, cravings, phobias and more. It can also be used to help you align more fully with your goals and intentions. EFT is like acupuncture for emotions without the use of needles. The results are often fast and permanent and it is simple enough that even a child can get great results with the basics.

How has using EFT helped you?

Where shall I start! I am a completely different person from the one I used to be 10-15 years ago. I use EFT every day to start my day with a bounce in my step, release stress, overwhelm, anxiety etc. I use it before I go to sleep to have a good night sleep. I have used EFT to support me in becoming a better parent and I use it with a practitioner to work on releasing my limiting beliefs and core issues.

One of the personal experiences I have had was when I joined a choir, after the first 3 times of attending I had a bad pain in my throat. After doing some tapping and uncovering and releasing my belief that I can’t sing (created when I was not allowed to join my school  choir at age 8), the pain disappeared and I was able to enjoy singing and performing in the choir.

What impact has it had on your clients? Do you have any stories to share?

So many transformations. Some brief stories include a woman who had pain for 15 years and needed codeine to get out of bed each day, within 20 minutes of tapping, was permanently pain free (I checked in with her a few years later). Women with fertility problems conceiving after sessions with me. Mums doing my 30 day tapping challenge reporting not needing a glass or wine or chocolate at the end of the day and husbands asking their wives what they have been doing because they seem so happy. Mums tapping on their kids and helping them with their self esteem, confidence, anxieties, sleep issues, eating problems etc. Birth trauma and general childhood trauma resolving.

What will the workshop be about? What will you be teaching our members?

This workshop is an introduction to the power and magic of EFT. You will learn the basics of tapping, have an experience of tapping to release anxiety, improve general wellbeing and get a good night sleep. The workshop is titled ‘An introduction to the magic of Emotional Freedom Technique’.

February Workshop: Inner Healing Care & Resilience with hem

Inner healing workshop

Inner healing care & resilience with Hem Kesav

Our February workshop is run by Hem, a Self Love coach and founder of the self love self care system. The work she does supports individuals to find their inner brilliance and to create an inner road map to deep love and care. She empowers people to understand the reasons we get held back in life – her motto being that when we love ourselves we can create relationships, life, career, health etc that is functioning at higher levels.  Hem uses coaching, meditation, intuition and healing in her work.

What is your story, can you tell us about your background?

A little light on me, I am a fourth generation psychic, fun loving gal.  My life fell apart in 2012 when I realised that my marriage wasn’t working.  I hit an all time low, got sick, fainted periodically in the street and had to be rescued by the staff in my local boots when I collapsed there. I was so fatigued and the notion of staying with my other half was  constantly filling me with dread.  Culturally and in alignment with my beliefs, I thought leaving a marriage was wrong, unhealthy, basically I felt guilty.  However, the message that kept coming up was  while I was pleasing everyone else, I was totally and utterly unhappy.  I was on the floor, literally.  Eventually and with a heavy heart, I stepped away from tradition.  I made a pact with myself that it did not matter what anyone thought about me, I had to honour myself.  It took many years to clear all the pain, there were financial concerns, pain stories flooding my system and me not wanting to be the person that gave up on love.

What areas of spirituality are you experienced in?

My mission is to ignite people’s passion to get back in touch with themselves, by living in authenticity and honesty.  I help my clients to fully develop behaviours to manifest the life they want.  I liken my style of coaching to ‘just a little magic that will bring out the best life that you can live…’I am an avid yogini, reiki master, self love and spiritual coach. Having studied spiritual texts etc since I was 11 years old, I am a kind of a guru when it comes to most things spiritual.

Why is self love and self care so important on our healing journey?

All that happened with my marriage ending highlighted that I was not happy with my life: Or my career choices, or with the way that I was being.  Something had to give in my life.  I had to heal me and then it became clear to me  how I could help others too.   It’s all about how we all need to love and care for ourselves, be there for ourselves, be kind to ourselves and step into understanding that some of the notions that we have been taught are outmoded and stopping us from living our best lives.  As a whole, I believe that people are here to contribute in magnificent ways to this world.  It’s all about sharing, being there for one another and concentrating on how we can serve each other with love.

What led you to get into this work?

If we don’t tap into self love and care, then our contribution to the world and being our best selves is unable to happen in a beautiful and magical way.  How can we share love with one another, if we are unable to be love within?  It really is that simple in some senses, yet the truth is that we are all carrying around years of baggage, of scarring and hurt.  This is why stepping into healing is so crucial if we truly want to live fulfilled and contented lives.

What will you be focussing the workshop on and what can members expect?

The workshop is all about Inner Healing focussing on resilience, without resilience we struggle in the world because we feel separate from it. The practices you will learn are some a simple breath-work technique and a popular Hawaiian prayer for forgiveness. The information in the workshop and the tools are to help you step out of spaces that box you in and leave you feeling unloved.  This is a call for you to rise into strength, to step into your own light and to be there for yourself.

MEET THE January EXPERT: Talking Self Care Mindset with Olivia Edwards

Self Care Mindset with Positive Parenting Coach

Self Care Mindset with Olivia Edwards

This month, we have mindset coach Olivia Edwards joining us. Olivia helps women make positive changes towards living a happier more successful life. Trained in Positive Psychology, she is also a certified happiness coach.

How did you get into mindset work, what is your story?

I have always been fascinated by people and what makes them behave and react to situations differently but my real interest in Mindset started when I developed Post Natal Depression after having my first child. My previous job was as an Assistant Educational Psychologist and I have a background in child development and psychology, so I felt there was an expectation that I would breeze through parenthood. For me what I found hard was balancing everything my daughter needed whilst loosing a sense of who I was outside of being a Mum. I didn’t know how to let go of the life I had before, was I meant to, how did people do that and be ok with it?! Those were all questions that lead to me really digging deep and doing a lot of work on my own mindset and wellbeing. This completely changed my life and resulted in me not only having a completely different mindset but starting my own business and going on to have another child.

Why is mindset so important when it comes to self care?

Your mind and body are connected and if you aren’t looking after them both and dedicating time and effort into replenishing your energy and developing growth you cannot possibly give to others or fulfil your potential. Self care is something that is starting to be more widely accepted but there is still a long way to go. It should be seen as necessary and not as a luxury and this perception is all to do with your mindset. If you can develop a positive self care mindset you can ensure your mind and body are kept full, just like when you fill your car with petrol or charge your phone. We wouldn’t hesitate to refuel these things in order to achieve maximum performance and eliminate burnout, we need to give the same perspective and importance to ourselves.

You are a certified happiness coach, how do you incorporate this into your coaching and why is happiness so important?

Becoming a certified happiness coach was something I worked towards after having my daughter because during my PND I felt a real absence of happiness, even though to all those on the outside it seemed I had so much to be happy about. I wanted to understand the science and psychology behind our feelings of happiness so I could work on my own happiness and mindset in order to support others. The tools and information I learned on this course feed into my coaching as I work in a very holistic way and happiness is so personal to all of us. It’s linked to our intrinsic motivation and our purpose which are vital to understand if we want to achieve success and a sense of meaning (which ultimately leads to happiness). Happiness is described by Mo Gawdat as the absence of things that make you unhappy. He has dedicated a huge part of his life to understanding the equation to happiness and is someone I really admire and respect. Once you open your eyes to your own happiness and connect with that you can be unstoppable!

What will you be discussing in the January workshop?

In the ‘Developing a Self Care mindset workshop’, I will be sharing some more information with you on what self care really means and how you can develop a positive self care mindset to ensure your energy levels remain topped up and your vibes are high! There is no better time to commit to you and your personal growth so come along and learn exactly how and why you would want to prioritise your self care and how this can lead to success in life.

Meet the december expert: Balancing your chakras Sneha Ramji

Balancing your chakras. Sneha Ramji

Balancing your chakras with healer Sneha Ramji

This month we have Spiritual Coach, Healer, Mentor and Meditation teacher Sneha Ramji joining us to talk about Chakras. Sneha transitioned into her passion and life purpose full time after working in the corporate world for 20+ years. She specializes in bringing peace, balance and clarity into people’s lives, through her coaching on reconnection with one’s inner being and re-establishing their authentic essence.

What is your story? Can you tell us a bit about your background?

My background is in corporate which helps her to understand the pressures of modern day living. I understands that people are time poor and demand heavy, in today’s stressful, over connected world. I harnesses my corporate experience, coupled with the uniquely accessible, easy-to-open-up, insightful nature to bring about powerful inner healing and effective, practical results in the mental, physical and spiritual layers of my clients.

What kind of work do you do, with who and where did you study?

I have now been teaching and healing for the last ten years and have taught meditation to corporate clients including HSBC. I undertook my training at the world-famous College of Psychic Studies, and have since gone on to study Reiki, Chakra balancing, Mediumship, Spiritual Coaching and Crystal Healing extensively. In addition, I have completed courses in Psychic Development, along the way picking up the ancient art of healing from an Indian Grand Master whose lineage can be traced all the way to the founder of Reiki.

What made you decide to follow your life’s purpose?

I used to work as a finance manager however I always felt like something was missing. Like there was a bigger purpose. I was always looking to change career paths it was until 5 years ago that I realised that healing was consistent in life, it had helped me to turn around my life. I had issues with self esteem, I was in debt and just was miserable. after learning and applying energy techniques, my life completely changed for the better. I always thought it would be good to give back.  I started a meditation class and taking clients on the side then when I got made redundant, around 5 years back  it was the perfect time to make the change.

How do you help people, what kind of healing do you offer?

I offer a unique combination of Reiki, shamanic and Akashic healing. I use all my knowledge on energy healing and methods to mentor people and help to empower themselves to apply the techniques in order to better their life.

What difference does this make to people’s lives?

When people understand energy, their realise they have much more control over there circumstances than they realise. They start to take charge, changing their beliefs, mind sets and ultimately their manifestation of situations for the better. I have had clients overcome grief, relationship issues, stress, finance worries and many more blocks. The beauty of the body and healing is we are able to identity the blocks we have in our frequency and apply methods in removing them and start to attract what we want in life.

What will you be teaching our members during the workshop?

I will be teaching members about the chakras, telling them how they work and what each of them do. The workshop is titled ‘Balancing your energy centres to have more energy and vitality‘.
